ACTIVITIES

South Africa’s famous Hluhluwe iMfolozi Game Reserve is one of the oldest national parks in the country and is well-known for its conservation efforts which is most notably in the preservation of the Black and White Rhinoceros, both of which are critically endangered.

Apart from these two species, the game reserve is home to the other members of the ‘Big 5’, namely lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo.A healthy population of endangered predators such as the African Wild Dog and Cheetah can also be found here.

The varied habitat which is found here supports a good diversity of common game species which include giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and different antelope. This region of South Africa is renowned for its excellent bird-watching opportunities, with over 400 of the country’s 950 species of birds being represented here.

The greater area around this game park has an abundance of private and public game reserves and national parks. Guests may visit the Isimangiliso Wetlands Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as Sodwana Bay, which is home to the southernmost coral reefs, as well as the Mkuze, Tembe and Ndumo National Parks.
