Children:
The child policy at Shepherds Tree Game Lodge aims to act in our guests’ best interest and safety.

We are located within a national park and game reserve where animals roam freely. Animals are wild and will always react according to their instincts.

Children between the ages of 6 and 12 are permitted on safari at the sole discretion of the manager or guide
Children under the age of 6 are not permitted on game drives

Baby-sitting facilities available at R300 per hour (maximum 2 children)

Sole use vehicle is available to facilitate families at an additional cost of R5820 per vehicle per game drive

Standard Room: Maximum of 2 adults
Family Suites: Maximum of 4 adults and 2 children under the age of 12
Executive Suites: Maximum of 2 adults and 1 child under the age of 6
Villa: Includes Private Villa unit with private pool, private vehicle, lounge and boma as well as butler service. Private meals must be arranged in advanced and will be charged additionally

Standard Room

The Standard Suite sleeps two adults features an en-suite bathroom as well as an outside shower, and a private patio overlooking the extensive game reserve. The Standard Rooms can also be combined into a Family Room which includes an additional two sleeper-couches. Satellite TV is available for a Family Room option onl

Family Suite

2 Luxury Suites that open onto a shared lounge (which can sleep 2 children on sleeper couches) allow for a spacious family offering that can sleep up to 6 people. The lounge and covered patio provide for a welcome retreat from the heat of the day. The lounge has a flat screen TV with DSTV.

Executive Suite

The Executive Suites provide guests with an en-suite, indoor steam shower, as well as a double outdoor shower, and private patio with private heated pool. The suite also allows guests to relax in their private lounge with satellite TV.

Private Villa
The Private Villa include two en-suite rooms, each with a private outdoor shower. The villa’s patio offers panoramic views of the reserve, as well as a private plunge pool. The inside offers a spacious lounge with satellite TV.

ENTERTAINMENT

African Marimbe Band (30 min or 1 hour show)
The marimba (South African xylophone), one of Africa’s oldest instruments, combines powerful rhythms and harmonies with lyrical melodies and is perfect as a feature performance or background sound.

African Choir (30 min)
Enjoy the beautiful harmony of the local choir as their songs entertain and mesmerize your music soul.

Interactive Drumming
Join in and feel the vibrations from head to toe! For centuries, drumming has been a part of African culture as a form of expression and as one of the ways in which communities communicate with one another. A minimum of five and a maximum of 120 guests can be accommodated for this funfilled activity.

Quad Biking
Experience the ‘real thing’ as you ride your way up and around natural obstacles on our exciting quad trail! No experience is required, as our guides take you through proper instruction to safely enjoy this 1 hour ride hour. You will be led through the bushveld and down to the community where you will meet villagers and discover the Lodge’s involvement in a community project.

Location

Shepherd’s Tree Game Lodge is situated in an exclusive-use zone in the southwest of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Perched on a hill slope the lodge offers extensive views of the surrounding bushveld.

Travel on the N4 west and turn onto the R556. Follow the Pilanesberg signs past Sun City and turn right onto the R565. Another 12 km will get you to the Shepherd’s Tree Game Lodge entrance.
