DELUXE ROOMS

Our most traditional style of accommodation consists of four en-suite Deluxe Rooms. The rooms are decorated in a modern rustic style, each with either one king-sized bed or two single beds covered by a large mosquito net, with an indoor sitting area and private veranda. Units 4 & 5 inter-lead, which are perfect for families travelling together.

FAMILY LOFT CHALET

Min 2 Adults | Max 4 people

For small families wanting to share accommodation or groups of friends keen on a little extra space, our two Family Chalets can accommodate four people each. Each log-cabin-style chalet has two double bedrooms (one is a second story loft-style room, the other on the ground floor), 1 bathroom with bathtub & shower, and an open-plan living area. This chalet is closest to the main lounge, dining and pool areas of the lodge.

THE COTTAGE

Min 3 adults | Max 6 people | 4 adults and 2 children/teenagers

This private safari home is classically styled with a nod towards African-inspired decor. Comfortable and spacious, The Cottage can accommodate six guests in two en-suite bedrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers and a loft room with a downstairs bathroom, complete with air conditioners and stunning views.

It features a cosy lounge, dining room and kitchen. The covered veranda and private swimming pool overlooking the Msunduze River are the star features of The Cottage. The perfect spot to enjoy family or friends while taking in the sights and sounds of the Zululand bush.

THE HOMESTEAD

Min 3 Adults | Max 6 people | 4 Adults and 2 children/teenagers

The option for ultimate privacy and luxury is our exclusive Homestead. This stylish two-bedroom safari home can accommodate up to six guests.  Each bedroom features an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and outdoor shower. A separate loft room with a downstairs bathroom is also available.

Stacking doors in the spacious lounge and dining area open onto a private deck at the edge of the lodge’s boundary. This modern safari home is thoughtfully designed to highlight the natural surroundings and offers stunning views of the bush and the Msunduze River. The Homestead is equipped with air conditioning and a refreshing plunge pool that overlooks the river.

Please Note: Sat-nav directions may not always follow the recommended route. Please drive with caution and observe speed limits along the N2, where limits may reduce to 100 km/h or 80 km/h in certain areas.

FROM DURBAN

  • Rhino River Lodge is approximately 300 km from Durban.
  • Travel north on the N2.
  • Approximately 27 km past the Hluhluwe turnoff, turn left onto the dirt road marked P450 (Manyoni South Gate), opposite the Baobab Inn.
  • Continue for 4.8 km along the P450 road to reach the Manyoni South Gate.
  • After entering the reserve, continue a further 5.5 km to the lodge.

FROM PONGOLA/JOHANNESBURG

  • Travel south on the N2.
  • Approximately 20 km past the Mkuze turnoff, turn right onto the dirt road marked P450 (Manyoni South Gate), opposite the Baobab Inn.
  • Continue for 4.8 km along the P450 road to reach the Manyoni South Gate.
  • After entering the reserve, continue a further 5.5 km to the lodge.

Upon arrival at Manyoni South Gate, the security officer will direct you to Rhino River Lodge. If you experience any difficulties en route, please contact the lodge directly.

CHILDREN’S POLICY

  • Children of all ages are welcome
  • Children aged 0–3 years stay free of charge
  • Children aged 4–12 years pay 50% of the adult sharing rate
  • Children over 12 years are considered adults
  • Children under 4 years are not permitted on scheduled game drives
  • Children aged 4–12 years may join game drives at the ranger’s discretion
  • Babysitting services are available on request at an additional cost
  • Family accommodation options are available for guests travelling with children
