STANDARD TWIN

This twin room features a balcony, air conditioning and soundproofing.

An authentically modern bush inspired standard twin room (27-30sqm) with two double beds and an en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and shower, situated on the lower and upper floor of the 500 hotel block and overlooking the swimming pool. The lower floor rooms have a paved patio, and the upper floor rooms have a balcony.

The Standard Twin room is the perfect choice for friends or families travelling together. Offering two double beds in each room, the space comes equipped with air conditioning, DSTV, direct dialling telephones, coffee and tea making facilities, international multi-plugs, hairdryers, electronic safes and minibars which can be stocked on request. Bathrooms comprise of a separate bath and shower, toilet and electric shaving plugs for those who may need.

An authentic bush inspired standard king room (27-30sqm) with one king bed and an en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and shower, situated on the lower and upper floor of the 300 hotel block and overlooking the Pilanesberg National Park. The lower floor rooms have a paved patio, and the upper floor rooms have a balcony.

The Standard King room is a great choice for couples who enjoy the extra space. Each of the 20 king rooms comes equipped with one king size bed, air conditioning, DSTV, direct dialling telephones, coffee and tea making facilities, international multi-plugs, hairdryers, electronic safes and minibars which can be stocked on request. Bathrooms comprise of a separate bath and shower, toilet and electric shaving plugs for those who may need.

STANDARD QUEEN ROOM

An authentic bush inspired standard queen room (52-55sqm) with two queen beds and an en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and shower, situated on the lower and upper floor of the 300 hotel block and overlooking the Pilanesberg National Park. The lower floor rooms have a paved patio, and the upper floor rooms have a balcony.

An authentically modern bush inspired luxury king suite (67-70sqm) with one king bed and an en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and shower, and a lounge area with a couch, situated on the lower and upper floors of the 100, 300 and 500 hotel blocks. The lower floor rooms have a paved patio, and the upper floor rooms have a balcony.

Our Luxury King Room boasts one large king size bed, plus a lounge with a couch to curl up on and enjoy a good book from. Each of the nine luxury king rooms comes equipped with air conditioning, DSTV, direct dialling telephones, coffee and tea making facilities, international multi-plugs, hairdryers, electronic safes and minibars which can be stocked on request. An authentically modern bush inspired Executive Suite (77-80sqm) with one king bed and an en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and shower, and a lounge area with couch, situated on the lower and upper floors of the 500 hotel block. Overlooking the swimming pool, the lower floor rooms have a paved patio, and the upper floor rooms have a balcony.

With just four Executive Suites on offer, these rooms are a step-up from the luxury king suite, offering special executive amenities. Each of these comes equipped with air conditioning, DSTV, direct dialling telephones, coffee and tea making facilities, international multi-plugs, hairdryers, electronic safes and minibars which can be stocked on request. SWIMMING POOL

Not much trumps a cool dip in the pool on a hot summer’s day. The Bakubung pool, with its plethora of loungers and full poolside service, allows guests to lie back, soak up the sun and enjoy a cold beverage or a light lunch without having to move. If you need a short break from the sun, our poolside bar is a great place to retreat to and have a drink in the shade.

RESIDENT LOUNGE

For those visiting on business or for those needing a quiet space to get a few hours of work done, our resident’s lounge is the ideal space to retreat to. There are a variety of comfortable seating areas to work from and the area offers strong WIFI signal should you require it.

KIDS PLAYGROUND

Family comes first! Bakubung and its facilities and activities make it an easy choice for families. Kids can spend hours playing on our playground which has been fully equipped with slides, swings and climbing equipment. When they are done here, there are a number of other kid’s activities on offer to help keep them entertained.

JUNIOR RANGERS

Keep the kids entertained with our fun and educational Junior Rangers Programme! Children between the ages of 6-12 can participate in a range of fun activities to learn all about our local fauna and flora. They are also given a goody bag packed with a range of entertaining stuff, plus a personalised certificate at the end of their stay.

HIPPO HOLIDAY CLUB

If you are joining us during the school holidays, be sure to enroll your little ones into the Hippo Holiday Club. Designed for kiddies aged 4 to 12, the programme offers a range of age-appropriate activities to keep your little treasures entertained

WILDLIFE CENTRE

We are passionate about wildlife and educating our guests about the incredibly diverse range of animals, birds and reptiles we are home to in the Pilanesberg. Guests can come visit the wildlife center to view and learn about various indigenous snakes from the area, as well as find out about our educational and interactive bush walks, game drives and recent animal sightings.

TENNIS COURTS

What better way to stay healthy and active than with a game of tennis? Get your game on with family or friends or get stuck in with the kids - with two floodlit courts available you can play night or day. You do not even have to bring equipment with you because there are tennis rackets and balls available from reception.

VOLLEYBALL COURT

Grab your family members and start a game of volleyball and soon, there will be others wanting to join in the fun. There is nothing more social than a game of volleyball and it’s a brilliant way for kids to make new friends while participating in a fun and active game.

GYM

For those wanting to keep fit and active on their bush breakaway, Bakubung offers a fully equipped gym adjacent to the tennis courts. Runners can enjoy a jog on one of our treadmills and for those looking to tone up, there are a variety of weights and weight machines on offer. Fresh sweat towels and cold water are always available on site, to ensure you have a pleasant workout experience.

DRY CLEANING

We offer laundry service seven days a week. 07h00-12h00 same day delivery / After 12h00 - next day delivery.

HOUSEKEEPING

Rooms are serviced each morning to keep them fresh and tidy, with a turn-down service each evening for a cosy, restful night.

ROOM SERVICE

Enjoy room service from Marula Grill Restaurant with a select menu of firm favourites. Available daily from 11:00 - 21:00.

TRANSFER, CHAUFFEUR AND CAR HIRE

For guests who would like to take a shuttle to enjoy a day trip to Sun City or perhaps require a transfer to and from the airport, we have you sorted. For a small surcharge, a shuttle bus between the lodge and Sun City, or a transfer to and from the Pilanesberg airport can be arranged on request.

GAME DRIVES

Join a qualified guide for a game drive in one of our large game vehicles (smaller vehicles available on request) and learn all about the unique fauna and flora that form part of this richly diverse landscape.

BUSH WALKS

With over 360 species of bird and a thriving mix of plant life, this activity provides guests with an active, educational experience in the bush. Learn about the transition zone between the semi-arid Kalahari Desert and the Lowveld and how the extensive bird life here, live and feed on it. It is truly an unforgettable experience.

FROM SANDTON

  1. Travel north along William Nicol Drive to the Fourways intersection with Witkoppen Road.
  2. Turn left into Witkoppen Road towards Lanseria/Roodepoort.
  3. Turn right at the intersection with Hans Strijdom Extension towards Broederstroom and Lanseria.
  4. Cross over the Muldersdrift/Diepsloot Road and continue on the R512 towards Broederstroom and Lanseria.
  5. Cross the bridge over the R28 Krugersdorp/Pretoria highway, pass the Lanseria turnoff, and continue straight.
  6. At the T-junction, turn left onto the R512 towards Magaliesberg.
  7. Continue until you see the Sun City signboard on your left. Turn right on the R512 to Brits and cross the bridge over Hartbeespoort Dam.
  8. At the T-junction, turn right on the R512 towards Brits and follow the directional signs.
  9. Continue to the four-way stop and turn left onto the R512/R27 towards Brits/Rustenburg.
  10. Pass the first Brits turnoff.
  11. At the signpost marked R27 Rustenburg/Brits, turn right.
  12. On the bridge, turn left towards Rustenburg.
  13. Continue until you reach the slipway on the left. Take the slipway onto the new N4 highway.
  14. A signboard on the left indicates Pilanesberg via Route 91. Exit left off the highway.
  15. At the T-junction, turn right and continue towards Sun City.
  16. Once reaching Sun City, continue straight past the Zenex garage on your right.
  17. Approximately 4 km further, turn right at the sign for Bakubung.
  18. Follow the road to the Bakubung Gate.

FROM CENTURION

  1. Take the N1 north towards Polokwane.
  2. Take the N4 Rustenburg split (toll road).
  3. Continue straight.
  4. A signboard on the left indicates Pilanesberg via Route 91. Exit left off the highway.
  5. At the T-junction, turn right and continue towards Sun City.
  6. Once reaching Sun City, continue straight past the Zenex garage on your right.
  7. Approximately 4 km further, turn right at the sign for Bakubung.
  8. Follow the road to the Bakubung Gate.

FROM OR TAMBO

  1. Exit OR Tambo International Airport and take the R21 towards Pretoria.
  2. Follow the highway and take the Pietersburg/Polokwane (N1) off-ramp.
  3. Continue on the N1 bypass around the eastern side of Pretoria.
  4. Pass the Witbank/Pretoria East turnoff.
  5. Take the N4 toll road (Bakwena Platinum Highway) towards Rustenburg.
  6. Take the Sun City off-ramp (R556).
  7. Continue on the road, passing two four-way stops.
  8. Continue towards Sun City, observing the speed limits.
  9. Pass Sun City on your right.
  10. Approximately 4 km further, turn right at the Bakubung Gate sign.
  11. Follow the road through the village and enter Bakubung Gate.
